To create this unique shade of brown porcelain I dyed the clay by wedging (a specialized kneading technique) a pigment called Mason Stain into the porcelain until thoroughly incorporated prior to throwing the mug form on the wheel and hand sculpting the facial features and limbs with more of the same brown clay. Future batches of brown will vary in shade, so every piece is unique on its own and every new color batch will be one of a kind.
